Create Booktrovert Campaigns

Before you create a Booktrovert campaign, be sure to carefully consider your campaign goals! It may make sense to create different landing pages for different campaigns. Visit Types of Booktrovert Campaigns to learn more and see example campaign goals.

As you create your campaign, each page will be auto-saved so you can easily come back to finalize the draft at any time.

To start, click Booktrovert in the top navigation, then Create New.

Enter your campaign criteria, including campaign visibility (Private or Public), start date, and other details that readers will see when they view your campaign.

Campaign Header & Campaign Text: Appears to the left of the book cover and should be reflective of your overall campaign and call to action (CTA). If you have multiple books included in the campaign, this text will remain visible as readers click through to see each book. See example here.

Important: Booktrovert Giveaway campaigns offer unlimited quantities and can be claimed instantly, so use language like "Claim Your copy" (not enter to win).

To select the book or books to be included in the campaign, use the search bar for title name, ISBN-13, or author.

To select a book, it must be Active (not archived) in NetGalley. If you don’t see it in the list, use the dropdown to View Archive. If it is archived, restore it with a click! Otherwise, you may need to Add a New Title.

Other important considerations:

  • Ensure the ISBN number on the title details page matches the ISBN on retail sites (our system automatically uses the ISBN to generate the retail links).
  • For Giveaways and Sweepstakes, upload the final EPUB if you have it. Giveaway and Sweepstakes winners will receive the file that's available in your NetGalley account, so be sure it's the best version! Even if you don't have final files, an EPUB is better than a PDF in most cases. Recommended file formats.

Click Select to add your book details.

Book HeadlineTeaser text or blurb that readers will see for this particular book. Do NOT repeat the book title/author, which automatically appear already.

Book TextShort descriptive text about this particular book, appearing below the book cover(s).

See example here.

Select your CTA: Sweepstakes, Giveaway, Pre-Order, or Buy. For Sweepstakes, you will be prompted to choose the quantity to be won at the end of the 7-day campaign.  If you choose Giveaway, select the duration of the giveaway from 1 day (24 hours, beginning at Noon ET), up to 7 days.

Once this information has been finalized, click “Add Another Book” at the bottom of the page or “Finish” at the right of the page to proceed.

As you build your campaign, you will see the Campaign Details added to the right side of your screen so you always know which books have been added. You can easily edit or remove titles from this list.
