Before you begin, be sure to carefully consider your campaign goals! Example campaign goals can be found below. For more ideas, see 10 Ways to Use Booktrovert!
Call to Actions (CTAs):
Publishers and authors can create campaigns for one or more books (up to 10) with the following CTAs per book:
- Sweepstakes
- Offer limited quantities, but entrants have 7 days to enter for a chance to win! Winners are randomly drawn and will be notified either way. CTA changes to retail at the end of the campaign.
-
Giveaway
- Offer unlimited quantities that can be claimed instantly, but entrants must act quickly! Giveaways begin at Noon ET but are only active for a limited amount of time (from 24 hours to the full 7 days!). CTA changes to retail at the end of the campaign.
- Pre-Order
- Drive to the retail links of your choosing!
- Buy Now
- Drive to the retail links of your choosing!
Please note: At this time, Booktrovert only supports Audiobook pre-order or buy now CTAs.
Campaign Visibility
- Public: Recommended! Public availability offers the best discoverability and engagement with the Booktrovert community. Public campaigns will appear in the Booktrovert Feed and Digest Newsletter.
- Private: Private campaigns do not appear in the Booktrovert Feed or Digest Newsletter, so it’s up to you to drive traffic. Perfect use cases for private campaigns include event giveaways, book clubs, “street/launch team” copies, pre-order incentives, and more!
Booktrovert campaigns are active for seven (7) days. After seven days the campaign page will still be visible, but your preferred retail links will appear in place of the campaign CTA.
Example Campaign Goals
Before you begin, be sure to carefully consider your campaign goals! It may make sense to create different landing pages for different campaigns. For instance:
- Campaign A: Fall Giveaway! (giveaway for five fall titles)
- Campaign B: On Sale Now! (one book)
- Campaign C: Chance to win book 1 and pre-order book 2 in this series! (sweepstakes of book 1 + pre-order link for book 2)
Trying to choose between a NetGalley Promotion or a Booktrovert Campaign? Learn the differences here, or reach out to our team at promotions[at]netgalley.com to collaborate!
Please note:
Books must be active in the NetGalley service in order to be eligible for a Booktrovert campaign, but the giveaway fulfillment and any call to action (“CTA”) is unrelated to the book’s settings in NetGalley. This means a book can be private in NetGalley and still have a public campaign on Booktrovert. See more info at Important Details for Booktrovert Giveaways and Campaign Eligibility & Cancellations.
