The NetGalley Secure Widget is a great way to reach your key contacts directly, by giving them pre-approved access to your book. Unlike Open Widgets, Secure Widgets are associated with a list of email addresses you specify when you create the widget; only NetGalley accounts which are tied to those email addresses can access the title using that widget. Read more about Widgets here.
You can create Secure Widgets from several places within your client account.
On the Dashboard:
The Manage Titles page (via the purple gear icon):
and the Title Details page:
After clicking the Invite Contacts button you will be brought to a page where you can:
- Type in individual email addresses,
- Or upload a CSV file with a list of email addresses.
(NOTE: Add each email address on a separate line, with no semicolons or commas.)
Once you have typed in or uploaded the email addresses, scroll down and customize the widget to your liking. There are three options to how it can look:
- cover image only
- text only
- text with cover image.
After checking off the widget consent checkbox and pressing "Next", you will see your finished widget! To use the widget in your email follow these steps:
- Highlight the image and link,
- Press Ctrl+C/Cmd+C on keyboard
- Or (on a PC) Right-click and choose Copy (do not choose “Copy Image”),
- And then paste into your own email.
Please note: You must be logged out of your publisher account to test the widget. Need help? Email concierge[at]netgalley.com

We also have some template language for sending widgets to your contacts found here, which you can customize to suit your needs.
