It's a great idea to preview your books after uploading new titles to your NetGalley account so you can confirm it looks as expected.
You can preview your digital reading copy on the NetGalley Shelf app, on a computer, and/or on a Kindle device.
To preview audio books, please only use the NetGalley Shelf app (option 1 below).
- On the NetGalley Shelf app (recommended)
Download the NetGalley Shelf app from the Apple Store or Google Play Store. When prompted, log in with your NetGalley member ID and password. This is different from your company login. Create a member login here if you don’t already have one (choose the Book Trade Professional member type). You will not need to do this again once you’ve signed in.
To test a file, use the widget link to auto-approve your member account. Create the widget in your client account, then paste the link into a new tab or window. Before navigating to the widget URL you MUST sign out completely from your NetGalley client account, or use a private/incognito window. Navigate to the widget login page and sign in using your member account. Once you do this, the book will appear in your NetGalley Shelf app on your phone or tablet.
Any books your member account has been approved for will automatically appear in your NetGalley Shelf app going forward. - On a computer
Download Adobe Digital Editions on your computer to open the file, (this is the program that members use to view .acsm or protected files when you choose the “Download” Reading Option, and also the program that allows them to transfer files to most reading devices.) Sign in to Adobe Digital Editions using your Adobe ID. If you do not already have an Adobe ID, you will need to get one here.
Once you have successfully downloaded Adobe Digital Editions, go to the Title Details page and click the orange arrow next to Upload/Preview Files in the left sidebar:
Now click the file type (PDF or EPUB depending on what file you uploaded) and your file will download. - On a Kindle device
