NetGalley will accept full ONIX feeds containing title metadata for all of your titles. We will accept updates to those title records as well—so as information changes or is added to your metadata, it will automatically change for those titles active in NetGalley. ONIX feeds typically contain records for all of the titles you publish, including backlist—the vast majority of which will not be active in NetGalley. So, once we have your ONIX feed, you can “activate” title records in NetGalley by uploading a manifest file to your NetGalley FTP _INBOX folder.
For clients using ONIX, your ONIX record will populate the basic title information into your title record in NetGalley. You will be able to add NetGalley-specific notes, Digital Press Kit files, and links during the title set-up process.
The optimal workflow order is:
- ONIX feed
- Manifest file (to create the NetGalley title record)--only if creating multiple titles; otherwise use the Create New button within your account
- Covers & content files (can be added simultaneously)
